A Saanich family is asking for the public’s help after their 13-year-old daughter did not return home from school today.

According to her mother, Shannon, her daughter (name removed), a Grade 8 student at Royal Oak Middle School, did not arrive home as expected after school.

The family says this is highly unusual, as (name removed) normally takes the #6 bus home.

Her mom also added that she left her phone and watch at home.

(name removed) was last seen wearing a forest green hoodie that reads Institute for Global Solutions and has a globe on the back. The hoodie is from Claremont Secondary School.

She was also wearing black dance studio pants and black-and-white Adidas shoes.

The family says a missing person report has been filed with Saanich Police. As of publication, the detachment has not released a media statement, and Victoria Buzz has reached out for comment.

Anyone who may have seen (name removed) or has information that could help is asked to contact Saanich Police.
