The Belfry Theatre is celebrating its 50th anniversary with an interactive open house on January 10th, inviting the community to step behind the scenes of one of Victoria’s most beloved arts spaces.
From noon to 4 p.m., visitors can take part in guided or self-guided building tours, interactive and static displays, and a ticketed historical walking tour of Fernwood by John Adams from Discover the Past Walking Tours.
Visitors can also peek into rehearsals, including “Meet the Donuts”—a cast-and-crew ritual where performers connect with Belfry staff over warm drinks.
During the Open House, you’re invited to grab a free coffee, hot apple cider, hot chocolate, or tea while staff get you set up with their scavenger hunt.
The building-wide scavenger hunt lets you explore every corner of the theatre while searching for clues and answering Belfry-related questions.
The winners will win tickets to see their presentation of Maanomaa, My Brother (My Bird, My Brother) that runs from February 3rd to March 1st, 2026.
A number of interactive displays will be available, including “Darts with Dale,” “Things that go pew-pew” (kid-friendly), “Blinded by the LX”

You’ll also find two static displays: “How a Show Comes Together (or How We Learned to Love Excel)” in the BMO STUDIO and “The Room Where It Was Written” in the Belfry Tower.
