The Grinch is coming to the Gorge!
On Saturday, December 20th, the Grinch will be leading a festive paddle down the Gorge Waterway, and Victorians are invited to join.
Bring your standup paddleboard, kayaks, and canoes, and wear your best festive gear while you follow him on his merry journey!
Participants are asked to park at Esquimalt’s Gorge Kinsmen Park, as they will be paddling down towards the west Gorge area from Kinsmen Beach at 11 a.m.
Don’t forget your lifejackets and dry suits—the water may be chilly, but the holiday spirit will keep you warm!
Whether you’re paddling or just watching from the sidelines, everyone is encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to their local food bank.
Donations will be collected at Kinsmen Beach at 12:30 p.m. after the paddle, where you can get a festive photo with the Grinch!
And don’t worry, he’s not as scary as he appears!
Underneath the green costume and whiskers is Metchosin resident, Curtis Becker, who is bringing holiday spirit to the Gorge Waterway for the fifth time.
The annual paddle has become a festive tradition for locals both on and off the water.
Grab your paddle, festive cheer, and don’t miss this annual tradition to kick off the final weekend before the holidays!
