This top-rated whisky festival that’s not only beloved by locals, but globally, features unique tastings and presentations from over 50 distilleries from around the world.

Festivities kick off on Thursday, January 15th with The Rhythm & Booze Project—a live performance from a UK blues duo and an immersive whisky tasting experience hosted by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society.

Also taking place on the first day are The Canadian Whisky Awards, where they’ll be announcing the best in Canadian Whisky for the previous year.

Local distilleries, like Macaloney’s Island Distillery in Saanich, Duncan’s Stillhead Distillery, and Shelter Point Distillery in Campbell River will also be in attendance, sharing masterclasses on their origins and products.

Alongside local and Scottish distilleries, attendees can taste smoky, light, and delicate whiskeys from Ireland, England, United States, Japan, India, and France.

“Whisky is about enjoyment and we have put together a schedule of events that focuses on enjoyment – enjoying with people, enjoying with music as well as interactive experiences,” said Frank Hudson, President of Victoria Whisky Festival.

“It’s a place where you can focus on the kinds of whiskies you typically drink or you can spend an hour trying something new and expand your horizons. It’s completely up to you.”

With four days of tastings, live music, and immersive experiences, Victoria Whisky Festival’s 20th celebration is shaping up to be a memorable event that whisky fans won’t want to miss.
