Tofino’s stunning Wickaninnish Inn has earned a spot on Condé Nast Traveler’s Gold List 2026, ranking among the 14 best hotels and resorts in the US, Canada, and the Caribbean.

The esteemed list, released on December 15th, celebrates the top places to stay across four continents, curated by their global editors and contributors.

For the third time, Wickaninnish Inn has earned its place, standing proudly as the only Canadian hotel to make the cut.

Positioned on Chesterman’s Beach, this tranquil retreat is ideal for storm watching in the winter or unwinding on the beach during the warmermonths.

With nature-inspired design and stunning views of the Pacific, guests can stay in one of two accommodation buildings, each designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding landscape and oceanfront setting.

From ocean view rooms spot whales and other sea creatures with a pair of hotel-provided binoculars or cozy up next to your room’s crackling fireplace and watch waves.

For food and drink options, the resort offers several standout dining experiences.

Start your day with a specialty espresso or freshly baked good at the Driftwood Cafe—the perfect fuel before heading out to explore Tofino’s charming town.

For dinner, head to the Pointe Restaurant and savour dishes crafted from seasonal harvests and local ingredients while taking in panoramic ocean views.

The hotel’s On the Rocks bar serves expertly crafted cocktails, with one stand out recommendation being the Feather George whiskey cocktail, garnished with finely shaved cedar curls handmade by resident woodcarver.

For wine enthusiasts, Howard’s Wine Cellar offers a curated selection of BC wines and international favourites and provides an intimate space for wine tastings.

And no trip is complete without a visit to their tranquil four-room spa, which offers rejuvenating treatments featuring products crafted from island seaweed and other local materials.

The Wickaninnish Inn’s winter closure runs January 2nd to February 6th, but rooms are available to book before or after this period, starting at $540 per night.

If you’re craving a peaceful escape to Tofino, Wickaninnish Inn is the perfect spot to experience stunning beaches, lush forests, and luxury.
