Nanaimo RCMP are seeking witnesses to an incident of alleged assault which left a 62-year-old man injured.
Police say the victim was found unresponsive, just after 9 p.m., on Monday, December 1st, in an alley between Shepherd and Georgia Avenues, just south of Fifth Street.
The victim reportedly sustained life-threatening injuries and needed to be airlifted to hospital for medical treatment.
Investigators and police dog services attended to the scene, but have yet to identify or locate a suspect.
Nanaimo RCMP believe that the assault may have occurred some time before the victim was actually located, but cannot say when.
