A 21-year-old Campbell River man who was reported missing earlier this month has been found deceased.
Campbell River RCMP confirmed that Tanner Closs-Gillis was located on Sunday December 28th, eight days after he was reported missing to police.
Closs-Gillis was last seen on Saturday December 20th, prompting police to issue a public request for assistance in locating him.
RCMP say his death is not considered suspicious and that criminality is not suspected.
The investigation has been turned over to the BC Coroners Service, which will determine the cause of death.
In a statement, Campbell River RCMP thanked members of the public for their assistance during the search and extended condolences to the family during what they described as a difficult time.
Police say no further information will be released.
