Canada has officially unveiled its men’s hockey roster for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games, naming a 25-player lineup that blends veteran leadership with elite scoring and defensive depth.

Hockey Canada confirmed the full roster Wednesday morning, with the announcement timed alongside the ongoing world junior championship in Minnesota, where members of the national program’s leadership group are currently based.

The men’s hockey tournament at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games will take place in 2026 Winter Olympics, hosted in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, from February 6th to February 22nd, 2026.

NHL players will return to Olympic competition for the first time since 2014.

Headlining Canada’s roster is Sidney Crosby, who will compete in his fourth Olympic Games and pursue a third career Olympic gold medal.

Crosby previously helped Canada win gold in 2010 and 2014. He is joined by a core of star players including Connor McDavid, Nathan MacKinnon, Sam Reinhart, Brayden Point, and defenceman Cale Makar.

The six players were previously named to the roster, with the remaining 19 spots finalized today.

Canada last won Olympic gold in men’s hockey at the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi.

The team did not medal in 2018, when NHL players were not permitted to attend, and finished outside the podium again in 2022 in Beijing, where Olympic participation rules and pandemic-related disruptions significantly altered rosters across the tournament.

In recent international best-on-best play, Canada has remained competitive but has faced increased pressure from deep and skilled teams such as the United States, Sweden, and Finland.

The 2026 roster reflects an emphasis on speed, two-way play, and playoff experience, particularly on defence and in net.
