Victoria shoppers, get ready.
The popular Japanese retailer Uniqlo has confirmed the opening date for its first-ever Vancouver Island location.
The new store at Mayfair Shopping Centre will open on Friday, November 21st, bringing Uniqlo’s well-known “LifeWear” collection to Victoria.
The brand’s clothing is designed around simplicity, quality and longevity, offering pieces that are both practical and stylish.
The Mayfair location will carry clothing for men, women, kids and babies, giving families a chance to shop the brand’s full range locally for the first time.
Opening day will start with a morning celebration before doors open at 10 a.m. Shoppers can expect coffee and pastries for the first 300 people in line, along with a Taiko drumming performance, speeches and a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
All weekend long, there will be giveaways and special activities, including:
- Uniqlo tote bags for the first 100 customers each morning (Friday to Sunday)
- A Garapon Lottery between 3 and 5 p.m. for Uniqlo app members, with no purchase required
- A gift-with-purchase offer where customers spending $99 or more before tax will receive an exclusive Uniqlo duffle bag, while supplies last
With the new Victoria location, Uniqlo will have six stores in BC. The other five are in Metro Vancouver at Metropolis at Metrotown in Burnaby, Guildford Town Centre in Surrey, Willowbrook Shopping Centre in Langley Township, CF Richmond Centre, and Coquitlam Centre.
