VicPD have arrested a 44-year-old man who has been charged following three alleged assaults in downtown Victoria, all of which occurred on November 3rd.
At around 9 a.m., a woman reported to police that an unknown man had grabbed her wrist while she was walking along Yates Street.
Police say the victim was visibly upset and had sought safety inside a nearby business where she contacted VicPD.
From there, officers identified the suspect using CCTV footage and confirmed the suspect had continued walking in the direction of downtown Victoria.
Following the first incident, at around 10:20 a.m., officers received a second report from BC Transit staff who reported that two youths on board a bus had been touched and harassed by an adult male passenger.
Police say a BC Transit supervisor was able to attend the scene and observed the suspect exit the bus, keeping an eye on him until police arrived.
Officers then reportedly located and arrested the suspect without incident in the area of Douglas Street near Princess Avenue.
VicPD says that no serious physical injuries were reported and all three victims involved were offered support.
The 44-year-old suspect, Rocky Lemelin has been charged with three counts of assault and remains in custody, pending a bail hearing.
