Pedestrian suffers serious injuries after being struck by vehicle in Saanich

A pedestrian was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle while in a marked crosswalk Tuesday evening.

Saanich Police are investigating the collision that took place at around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25th, at the intersection of Quadra Street and Saanich Road. 

According to police, the pedestrian  was crossing the road in a marked crosswalk when they were struck, sustaining serious but not life-threatening injuries. 

Paramedics were called to the scene and the pedestrian was transported to hospital, while the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Police say that alcohol has been ruled out as a factor, and investigators believe that actions of both the driver and pedestrian contributed to the incident.

Saanich Police continue to investigate this incident.
