It’s time to light up the holiday season, Victoria!
On Monday, December 1st at 5 p.m., Butchart Gardens officially flips the switch on its beloved Magic of Christmas light-up marking the start of a month-long celebration in front of The Rose Carousel.
Watch the Gardens transform its lush greenery into a winter wonderland with millions of twinkling lights, live performances by traditional carollers and the Festive Brass, and even free carousel rides on the opening night.
After the ceremony, grab a warm drink from the Coffee Shop while you explore garden pathways glowing with colourful lights and festive displays, including scenes depicted from The Twelve Days of Christmas.
Outdoor skating is returning this season, too!
When you arrive at Butchart Gardens, head over to the Information Centre to reserve your skating session—slots open at 3 p.m.
Skate rentals are available on-site, with session times subject to weather conditions and availability.
If you can’t make the light-up ceremony, don’t worry—starting December 2nd, visitors can enjoy the holiday lights from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., all the way until January 6th.
