Alleged armed robbery suspect sought by Nanaimo RCMP

Nanaimo RCMP are seeking public assistance in tracking down the suspect of an alleged robbery which took place over the weekend. 

At around 6 a.m., on Saturday, November 22nd, police responded to a reported robbery in the 6200-block of Blueback Road. 

Investigators say the suspect is a man, standing approximately 5’10” tall, who was wearing dark clothes and a mask. 

This suspect reportedly jumped over the counter of the business while wielding a bladed weapon, rummaged through the cash drawer, ran out of the store, turned right and headed down Groveland Drive.

Police are now asking that residents in the 6300-block of Groveland Drive and the 6200-block of Blueback Road review their surveillance cameras and dashcams for any images of the suspect between the hours of 5:50 a.m. and 6:20 a.m. on the day of the incident. 

At the time of the robbery, the man was wearing a blue shirt, black pants and was carrying a grey bag.
