A 35-year-old man was arrested after a teenage boy was assaulted in Langford.
West Shore RCMP are investigating after a middle school student was seriously injured in an assault on school grounds Thursday morning.
Just before 9 a.m., police were called to Spencer Middle School on Goldstream Avenue after reports that an adult man had entered the property and assaulted a student outdoors.
In a media release, West Shore RCMP said that officers and the school liaison unit arrived within minutes.
Police say the victim, a young male student, suffered serious but non life threatening injuries and received medical care.
The suspect, a 35-year-old man, fled the school before officers arrived but was arrested a short time later. He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, November 14th.
Investigators believe this was a targeted and isolated incident and say there is no indication that other students or staff are at risk.
Police confirm the suspect and the student do not know each other.
The investigation remains active and no further details are being released at this time.
