Saanich police quickly arrested a suspect Monday afternoon after an armed robbery at a business in the 3700-block of Quadra Street.
Just after 2 p.m. on October 6th, a man entered the store, displayed an edged weapon as described by police, and demanded money before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police flooded the area and found the suspect just a few blocks away. He was arrested without incident around 2:30 p.m. and taken into custody.
Deputy Chief Paul Douglas praised the officers for their quick response.
“Apprehending an armed robbery suspect in under 30 minutes is a testament to the skill and determination of our patrol officers,” he said.
“I’m proud and grateful for their outstanding work.”
The investigation remains ongoing.
