Rainy conditions predicted for Greater Victoria trick-or-treaters this Halloween

As Halloween creeps nearer, the weather forecast for some parts of Vancouver Island appears to be grim.

Specifically, in the northern regions of the island, Environment Canada has issued a wind warning.

Beginning on Thursday, October 30th, and continuing through Friday morning, strong winds that may cause damage can be expected.

Environment Canada says that coastal areas of the central coast and northern Vancouver Island will see winds gusting up to 110 km/h.

“An intense front will cross the area tonight bringing heavy rain and very strong winds,” stated Environment Canada’s wind warning.

“Southeast winds gusting near 110 km/h over exposed coastal sections of the Central Coast and northern Vancouver Island are expected tonight. Winds will ease early Friday morning as the front moves off.”

Despite the storm easing off through the day on Halloween, the national weather authority predicts periods of rain will persist through the day and evening.

For many northern regions of the island, showers are predicted to last through the weekend, and into next week.

In Greater Victoria, the forecast is slightly less bleak this Halloween.

Thursday’s forecast is predicted to be mainly cloudy, but with no rain in the Capital Region. According to Environment Canada, the high will reach 13°C, while the overnight low will drop down to 8°C.

On Halloween in Victoria, the forecast projects rain throughout the day with showers continuing into the evening. The high will get up to around 10°C, which is also the predicted low for Friday night.

As of this publication, Environment Canada predicts rain will persist in Victoria through the weekend, up until Wednesday, November 5th.

Though it may be rainy for trick-or-treaters going door to door, there are other options of places to celebrate Halloween this Friday. Check out this list of trick-or-treating locations in Greater Victoria to find out more.
