West Shore RCMP are seeking the public’s help to identify a suspect after several EV charging stations across Langford and Colwood were damaged and their cords stolen, leading to thousands of dollars in losses.
According to police, these incidents occurred in the early morning hours between midnight and 3 a.m. over the past week.
West Shore RCMP said charging cables were cut and taken from multiple locations.
These include the Peninsula Co-op Gas Station at West Shore Parkway in Langford on September 30th, the Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre on Island Highway in Colwood on October 3rd, the Shell Gas Station on West Shore Parkway in Langford on October 4th, and again at the Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre the same day.
Surveillance footage shows a light-colored SUV, possibly an older Jeep Patriot, connected to the thefts. The vehicle’s license plate is unknown.
Police describe the suspect as a man with light skin who was wearing dark clothing.
