Oak Bay resident threatened during early morning home invasion

Share

Oak Bay Police are investigating a frightening early morning home invasion that’s believed to be connected to a string of residential break-ins across Greater Victoria.

At about 3:49 a.m. on October 20th, police were called after a resident reported that an unknown man had entered their home, stolen personal items, and made verbal threats.

Police say the suspect is believed to have entered through an unlocked door, gone upstairs, and taken a cell phone and credit cards from a bedside table.

The victim, who was asleep at the time, awoke to find the intruder nearby. The man reportedly told the resident to stay in bed and threatened harm before fleeing.

Police conducted a canine track that was unsuccessful, though the stolen cell phone was later found discarded in nearby bushes.
