Nanaimo RCMP have arrested a 36-year-old man who was wanted for alleged aggravated assault, stemming from a stabbing incident that occurred in April.
On Friday, October 3rd, police put out a press release in hopes that it would lead to the arrest of their suspect in this incident, Joshua Seibel.
The next day, Nanaimo RCMP announced that Seibel was found and arrested.
Seibel’s charge reportedly stems from an incident that took place on April 14th, in the Port Place Mall parking lot where an individual was stabbed.
This isn’t the first stabbing to take place at Port Place Mall, as one man was fatally stabbed in the parking lot in 2023 and another stabbing occurred just two years earlier, in 2021.
Police say that their investigation identified Seibel as allegedly being responsible, so a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
Since his arrest, he remains in police custody.
