Graffiti targeting a VicPD officer has appeared on the back of a commercial building in the Rock Bay area.
The large blue letters, visible from the Gorge Waterway, include the officer’s name and the phrase “rapes and abuses!”
This raised concerns after photos started spreading widely on social media.The accusatory graffiti also shows the Victoria Police Department’s non-emergency phone number.
In a statement on Tuesday, VicPD confirmed it is aware of the graffiti and said the listed phone number should only be used for real police matters.
“This number is for reporting legitimate police information only and should not be used for harassment or misuse,” the department stated. “Such actions divert critical resources and hinder our ability to serve the community.”

Wihle VicPD did not address the specific claim in the graffiti, they did mention that concerns about officer conduct should be submitted through formal complaint processes, either directly with VicPD or with the Office of the Police Complaint Commissioner.

Police emphasized that they take all allegations of misconduct seriously and that complaints submitted through official channels are investigated.
