An online fundraiser has been launched through GoFundMe to help raise relief funds for a family who lost their home to suspected arson in Duncan this week.
Dylan Efford Nagy is a student and soldier who has been residing in Duncan with his family.
On Sunday, September 21st, his house was one of two in Duncan that were burnt down which is now being investigated as suspicious by RCMP. Luckily, he and his family were able to escape the blaze unscathed; however, much was lost as a result of the blaze.
To help Efford Nagy and his family, a member of the young soldier’s regiment has launched a GoFundMe page in order to raise some relief funds.
“I’m reaching out on behalf of my incredible young coworker, Dylan Efford Nagy, who recently experienced a life-altering tragedy,” wrote Greydon Gamble, organizer of the GoFundMe.
“Mr. Efford Nagy is not only a dedicated team member at our regimental family, but also a hardworking student striving to build a better future.”

Gamble wrote that the funds raised will go towards getting Efford Nagy’s family back on their feet, to cover temporary housing, replace essential belongings and support him through this incredibly difficult time.
“Every dollar helps, and every share spreads hope,” he continued.
“If you’ve ever been touched by someone’s kindness, if you believe in lifting up those who work hard and never ask for much—please consider donating.”
As of this publication, the fundraiser has raised just over $2,800 of its $5,000 goal.
