Nearly 39,000 cruise ship passengers set to arrive in Victoria this week despite cancellations

Victoria’s Ogden Point is preparing for a busy week, hosting 13 cruise ships from Monday, September 22nd, to Sunday, September 28th.

Originally, these ships were expected to bring around 42,089 passengers to the capital city, but after Carnival Spirit canceled both of its planned stops, the estimated total now sits at about 38,995 visitors.

This week marks a busy period as fall officially starts, and only a few weeks are left in Victoria’s cruise season.

The schedule includes a mix of large liners carrying over 4,000 passengers and smaller expedition ships that offer a different perspective on the industry.

A highlight this week is Anthem of the Seas, arriving Thursday with nearly 5,000 guests. It is the largest ship visiting Victoria. Norwegian Cruise Line will also make an impact with three ships scheduled: Norwegian Bliss, Norwegian Encore, and Norwegian Joy.
