The weekend is upon us, and with that comes a laundry list of fun events to partake in!

Whether you’re strapping on your dancing shoes for a weekend full of Rifflandia, catching some pre-season hockey, or lighting up the skies at a lantern festival, this weekend is sure to be one for the books.

Some events are free, some ore ticketed, but all are loads of fun!

Check out these 13 things to do in and around Victoria this weekend—September 13th and 14th:

Island Hockeyfest – Victoria Royals vs. Everett Silvertips

The Royals are heading up island for their final pre-season game!

Island Hockeyfest is touching down at the Cowichan Community Centre in Duncan to close out the pre-season, and tickets are still available! Grab yours here.

Rifflandia

If you haven’t got enough Riff yet, you’re in luck! They’re keeping the party going all weekend long, with full days of music, laughs and great eats on both Saturday and Sunday.

Doors open at 12 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, and will feature artists such as JP Saxe, Walk Off The Earth, Alessia Cara and more!

Cinema in the Courtyard at Uptown

Uptown is transforming The Courts into an open-air cinema for a special outdoor screening of Crazy, Stupid, Love, the perfect mix of romance, comedy, and charm. Whether you’re bringing a date, your friends, or just treating yourself, come ready to relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

Chairs will be provided, so just bring yourself and your favourite people, get comfy, and enjoy the movie!

Saanich Fire and Police Department Open House

Join the fun this Saturday at Saanich Fire and Police Department’s open house!

Take part in games, live demonstrations and giveaways the departments have planned.

Visitors can meet fire fighters and police officers, ride in the Saanich Emergency Program’s Quake Cottage, tour Fire and Police vehicles, and more!

Autumn Lantern Festival

A Saturday evening full of lanterns, lights and community, this annual event will take place at Lambrick Park and features cultural entertainment, illuminated lantern displays, food trucks and a lantern-making workshop.

You’re invited to dress up, bring your own LED-lit lantern, or make your own for $5 per lantern!

Silver Rill Corn Maze

Silver Rill Coen Maze officially opens on Saturday! We are excited to share what we have created this year! Read on for more details!

This year’s maze has doubled in size to almost 4 acres.

There is a basic maze in the top half, and a special find it mission in the bottom! There are alsp kids games, animals to visit, and plenty of amazing picture opportunities.

Admission is $6 per person, and ages 2 and under get in free.

Ship Point Market

Head down to Ship Point for their last market of the year!

Happening both Saturday and Sunday, you can explore local art, handmade goods, and unique finds from talented vendors, all right by the Inner Harbour. Grab a bite, enjoy the view and make a weekend of it!

Bryan Adams at SOFMC

Bryan Adams will be hitting the stage at Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre with special guests The Sheepdogs this weekend!

There will be performances on both Saturday and Sunday, with limited tickets available for both shows. You can grab yours here.

Circo Osorio Circus

Have you spotted the massive purple and white circus tent at Mayfair?

It’s there because an international circus has arrived in Victoria and will be in town for nearly two weeks of fun and entertainment!

Circo Osorio Circus a family-owned traveling show with performers from around the world, will set up its iconic striped tent in the Mayfair Shopping Centre parking lot from September 11th to 22nd.

Music in the Park at Beacon Hill

It’s the final outdoor show of the summer! On Sunday, September 14th, head to the beautiful Cameron Bandshell in Beacon Hill Park.

This is a free, family-friendly event hosted by the City of Victoria. No tickets needed. Just bring your friends, family, and of course… your dancing shoes!

Music Trivia at Monkey Tree Pub

So much fun, they have to do it weekly!

Sixty Watt is bringing ALL MUSIC TRIVIA to The Monkey Tree every Sunday from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Name that tune, finish those lyrics, and test your knowledge!

Vic West Corn Roast

The 24th annual Vic West Corn Roast is happening this Sunday!

It’s a fan-favourite end-of-summer tradition with sunshine, fresh corn, local apple juice, and live music organized by the Spiral Cafe.

Victoria Songwriters’ Night

Victoria Songwriters’ Night at The Coda Club downtown features performances by Shannon Sargent, Tyler James Johnson, Felicia Harding, and David B. Gaskin.

Each artist brings their unique voice, stories, and songs to the stage, creating an intimate evening of heartfelt music and connection.
