Lovers of unique theatre adventures, this is for you!

The SNAFU Society of Unexpected Spectacles is returning to Victoria with New Earth Bandits 2, and is said to be an outdoor experience unlike anything you’ve ever seen.

Taking place at Macaulay Point Park at 6:30 p.m., it will run for two separate stints of time: Thursday, August 14th until Sunday, August 17th, and again from Thursday, August 21st to Sunday, August 24th.

This performance will turn Fort Macaulay into a living and breathing interactive story, set 5,000 years in the future.

Attendees will wander the trails, encountering giant puppets, aerial silk performances, live music with original songs, dance, clowning and more.

In truly choose-your-own-adventure style, you pick which paths you take and which performers you interact with, which will shape your experience.

“We want people to come more than once. You’ll have a different experience every time,” says Co-Artistic Director Kathleen Greenfield.

“Dress up as a futuristic character, explore the site, and become part of the story.”

The first New Earth Bandits production was in 2023, and after its success, organizers wanted to bring it back bigger and better than ever.

This year, it was created in collaboration with artists from diverse local communities, including artists on parole, Latin American artists, and artists of all abilities through the Embrace Arts Foundation.

As a result, New Earth Bandits 2 is a wondrous kaleidoscope of visions and voices, weaving together bold imagination, rebellious spirit, and heartfelt storytelling.

Tickets are $30 for general admission and can be purchased here.  This event is happening rain or shine!
