Fall commuters, this is for you!
As of Tuesday, September 2nd, BC Transit and the Victoria Regional Transit Commission will be rolling out their seasonal service changes for the fall.
As students return to school, service will once again be added to routes that serve K-12 schedules, and service will be increased on routes connecting to post-secondary institutions.
Route 17 Cedar Hill and Route 76 UVic/Swartz Bay will also resume operations for the upcoming school year.
Now that the new transit infrastructure is in place along several routes, they’ll shift back to their previous routing northbound through Carey Road and Ravine Way.
This includes the following:
- Route 32 Cordova Bay/Royal Oak Exchange
- Route 70 Swartz Bay/Downtown
- Route 71 Swartz Bay/Downtown
While the school year brings an increase in service along many routes, there will be a decrease in service along routes 70 and 75 for the season.
Some other minor trip adjustments can also be expected across the system, so be sure to check the latest Rider’s Guide for details.
The Umo app, Google Transit, or other transit apps will also have the updated real-time tracking and trip planning details.
