Victoria Fringe Festival: Preview
This year marks the 39th annual Victoria Fringe Festival, which hits the city on Wednesday, August 20th and runs until Sunday, August 31st.
That’s 12 days with 150 performances from 35 local, national and international artists across nine different venues—featuring five traditional stages and four unconventional spaces.
If you’re aching to get a Fringe Festival sneak peek, Market Square will be hosting a free Fringe Eve Preview this Wednesday! It’ll offer a glimpse at this year’s shows and guest performances.

Free Outdoor Movie
Back by popular demand, Esquimalt Parks and Recreation has launched their Summer Outdoor Movie series again!
This week’s screening will feature The Emperor’s New Groove, which is an animated comedy that tells of the unlikely friendship between an arrogant Emperor named Kuzco who has been turned into a llama, and a humble peasant named Pacha.
Bring a chair, some blankets and some snacks, and get comfy! Country Crepes will be on site as well.

Fernwood Comedy Night
Looking for a laugh?
Amps 2-11 Productions is putting on another edition of their iconic Fernwood Comedy Night, featuring some of Victoria’s funniest stand-up comics and improvisors.
Join your host, Paul McKinnon, in welcoming these performers and sharing a night of laughter!
Tickets are $15 and are only sold online.

Trivia at Spinnakers
Dust of the ol’ thinking cap and head down to Spinnakers Brewpub for some Sixty Watt Trivia!
You can have a team of up to eight people, and teams of three or fewer will receive a bonus point each round.
Spinnakers takes reservations, so you can book your table! Trivia is free to play and free to win.

Monthly Jazz Jam at The Coda
The third Wednesday of every month, The Coda hosts a monthly jazz jam!
Hosted by the Tom Vickery Trio, they ask that musicians bring their own instrument and sign up to play along with other jazz community members.
Tickets are $10 for general admission.
