If you were lounging at Willows Beach in Oak Bay this week and happened to glance out to sea, chances are your eyes landed on something a little more extravagant than your typical sailboat.
Two massive, futuristic-looking yachts appeared just offshore near Oak Bay’s Cattle Point, prompting plenty of buzz and some impressive drone footage from curious locals.
The yachts belong to Las Vegas billionaire Lorenzo Fertitta, the former CEO of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), who sold his stake in the company for billions nearly a decade ago.
The larger of the two vessels is Lonian, a sleek 285 foot superyacht that’s more floating mansion than boat. It’s reportedly equipped with all the luxuries you’d expect from a vessel in this class, and yes, there’s a helipad on board.
But Lonian didn’t travel alone.
Trailing behind her is Hodor, an equally eye-catching 216 foot catamaran-style support vessel that hauls all the extras.
According to Boat International, this beast can carry everything from jet skis and motorcycles to ATVs, quad bikes, and — why not — a second helicopter.
The magazine even dubbed it “the world’s largest floating toy box.”
Hodor is specifically designed to support Lonian’s adventures and keep the mothership clear of clutter — a sort of mega-garage on water.
And yes, it’s named after the Game of Thrones character.
According to MarineTraffic, the vessels made their way from Pender Island’s Bedwell Harbour to the Oak Bay area on Thursday, July 24th.
It’s not every day you see billionaire toys this close to shore, but for now, Oak Bay gets front row seats.
Locals and photographers have been flocking to Cattle Point to snap pics and fly drones, catching epic views of both yachts anchored in calm waters.

Figured I'd give Lorenzo his privacy on the main yacht, but here's a quick buzz around the support boat "HODOR" anchored off of Uplands
