Pacific Opera Victoria is once again presenting their Open Air: Opera in the Summer series, spanning from Friday, July 18th to Sunday, July 27th.
This event will feature both free and ticketed music events in and around Victoria, giving residents and visitors ample time to catch one of their incredible shows.
From July 18th to 20th, catch some family-friendly performances of Ben Moore’s Odyssey in the afternoons, and from July 22nd to 27th, Pacific Opera singers will be stationed in parks and surprise public spaces with free pop-up events.
Plus, they’ve added free 15-minute Mini-Concerts to their series’ roster. Similar to the pop-up events, these outdoor concerts will take place throughout the city, only with these you can check the schedule ahead of time.
Ben Moore’s Odyssey is performed by their Youth Summer Performance Program, and stars local singers aged 8 to 18, alongside opera professionals.
It’s an epic tale that will come to life with the magic of music and myth, and it’s selling out quickly, so don’t wait to get your tickets for $15, here!
Later in the week on Thursday, July 24th at 8 p.m., Pacific Opera will team up with the Victoria Symphony to deliver a signature concert under the stars and surrounded by the charm of Butchart Gardens.
Here, attendees will witness Pacific Opera Principal Conductor Giuseppe Pietraroia lead the Victoria Symphony Orchestra and the Pacific Opera Chorus, with special guests.
Among the musicians is celebrated Canadian soprano, Lauren Margison; one of Canada’s leading tenors, Adam Luther; and Victoria pianist, Patrick Cao, who will be performing with the Victoria Symphony for the first time.
The concert will be included in your Butchart Gardens admission, which is $42.75 for adult general admission.
