Bamba Wassoulou Groove at Wicket Hall
Don’t miss the Bamba Wassoulou Groove at Wicket Hall this Thursday!
This collective of five musicians was founded in the West Africa music hub of Bamako in 2013, and is blasting Malian music into the world, bringing in fans from all over.
They’re inspired by the Super Djata Band, one of Mali’s hottest groups of the 80s, as well as the Super Rail Band, who were one of the first groups to combine Afro-Cuban influences with bluesy, electrified guitar-driven Manding music.
Tickets are $33.50 and can be purchased online.

Sidney Street Market
Thousands of people flock to Sidney for this beloved street market, which has become a community staple for the vendors and atmosphere as well as the surrounding businesses.
The Sidney Street Market takes place on every Thursday evening from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. until September 11th.
Grab a bite to eat, sway to the live music and find something unique to take home!

Summer Stories in the Park
Esquimalt’s Recreation staff are offering free story time in the park throughout the summer!
They’ll be reading stories from Canadian authors, which will then be followed by a fun themed activity. This week will bring audiences The Only Lonely Fairy by Lana Button
The stories are intended for children 2 to 5-years-old, but all are welcome.

ReLove Night Market
Popular vintage and secondhand pop-up will be hosting their Summer Night Market series, which kicked off on Thursday, June 26th.
Every Thursday until September 25th, shoppers can browse vintage, secondhand, sustainable fashion and local artisan finds from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Fort Commons.
There will also be drinks, snacks and live music!

Sunset Cinema Series
If you happen to find yourself in Duncan this Thursday, consider stopping by the Cowichan Sportsplex for a sit-in movie experience!
They’ll be playing Ice Age, and will also have a concession stand selling popcorn and other snacks. Proceeds from the sales will be donated to the Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island.
