Summer is here and the markets are ready for you once again. Vendors, musicians, volunteers, farmers, and more have been working exceptionally hard to keep this community-driven tradition alive.
Take a break from your busy week or start your weekend off right with this collection of markets—prime hubs for creativity and local collaboration!
Here is a quick summer guide to some of the hotspot markets happening in and around Victoria this summer:
One-Off Markets:
Westshore Town Centre’s Sweet Street
The sweetest event of the year is back! On Saturday, June 21st, the Cineplex parking lot at Westshore Town Centre will transform into a sweet escape for anyone craving a sugar rush.
From cotton candy and ice cream to cookies, cupcakes, international treats and more, Sweet Street will offer something for everyone. Visitors can expect live music, fun activities, and a brand-new addition: a licensed area featuring dessert-inspired cocktails, beer, and cider, served by The Bubble Bus.
Guests can also stop by the Flower Truck by Soule Flower Farm to pick up a ready-made bouquet—or create their own—for a fragrant take-home treat.
And the icing on the cake? Attendees can visit the Victoria Buzz tent for a chance to win sweet prizes and say hello to the team from Virgin Radio Victoria, who will be broadcasting live from the event.
More than 40 vendors will be on-site to satisfy any sweet tooth.

FernFest
FernFest is back this coming weekend and will be bigger than ever, featuring a brand new stage and more.
The highly-anticipated neighbourhood festival will take place between Friday, June 13th and Saturday, June 14th, and will see a ton of live music, art and food come to the streets of Fernwood.
An artisan market will also be active on the grounds, taking over Gladstone Avenue with over 85 vendors.

Victoria Pride Festival
This year’s Pride Parade and Festival is on Sunday, July 6th!
After the parade ends at McDonald Park in James Bay, which is where the Pride Festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Every year, this festival features performances across a wide variety of mediums, plenty of food trucks and beverages, and more!
Plus, there’s always a market with a wide variety of local vendors selling unique finds, LGBTQ+ merch, and other incredible goods.

TD Art Gallery Paint-In
The TD Art Gallery Paint-In is widely popular event, and will be returning for its 36th year on Saturday, July 19th!
It’s one of the largest festivals of its kind in Canada, drawing 50,000 visitors annually, and featuring artists, music, activities and more.
Get a group of loved ones together and head down to Moss Street for this incredible event!

Reoccurring Markets:
Oak Bay Night Market
From now until September 10th, every second Wednesday of the month will bring a transformative and lively market to the streets of Oak Bay!
The Oak Bay Night Market is the perfect chance to stroll the historic village and take a look at what the artisans are showcasing, including wood turned bowls, handmade greeting cards, glass art, paper casting, fabric arts, jewelry, toys, freshly-made soaps and cosmetics and preserves.
Plus, they have live music, a magician, face painting and balloon animals—so you can bring the kidlets knowing they’ll be entertained!

Oaklands Sunset Market
The community of Oak Bay is thrilled to invite everyone back for another year of Oaklands Sunset Market!
It’s set to occur every Wednesday night at the Oaklands Community Centre until August 27th, where you’ll find over 50 local food and artisan vendors, live music and more.
There are also 8 diverse selections of food trucks available, including Churros and Mor, Greek n Go, Hazel’s Ice Cream and others!
There’s no better way to spend a summer evening.

Sidney Street Market
Thousands of people flock to Sidney for this beloved street market, which has become a community staple for the vendors and atmosphere as well as the surrounding businesses.
The Sidney Street Market takes place on every Thursday evening from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. until September 11th.
Grab a bite to eat, sway to the live music and find something unique to take home!

Esquimalt Farmers Market
The Monday and Thursday Esquimalt Farmers Markets are in full swing, both offering fun-filled entertainment and browsing opportunities for all ages!
Monday’s market is in Gorge Park from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. until early-September; and Thursday’s market is at Memorial Park from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. until the end of August.
You’ll find a huge selection of featured farm-fresh produce, meat, eggs, baked goods, jewelry, clothing and much more.
Plus, they’ll have rotating weekly food trucks and nightly musical performances!

The Sooke Night Market has returned for its 12th season, and is located at the Sooke Region Museum grounds!
It will take place every Thursday evening until August 28th, and features local food growers, creative makers, producers and more.

ReLove Night Market
Popular vintage and secondhand pop-up will be hosting their Summer Night Market series, starting on Thursday, June 26th.
Every Thursday until September 25th, shoppers can browse vintage, secondhand, sustainable fashion and local artisan finds from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Fort Commons.
There will also be drinks, snacks and live music!

Bastion Square Market
Bastion Squares Market series has begun, and will run until October 12th!
Weather permitting, the day market operates from Thursday to Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Additionally, they host a monthly night market, with the next one taking place on June 25th from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Peninsula Country Market
The Peninsula Country Market began in 1991 and has become a community gathering place for locals and visitors alike every year!
Spend every Saturday until October 11th shopping local artisan goods, fresh produce and indulging in one of their many food options.
Additionally, they have a variety of live entertainment and activities, including a new educational activity in their kids zone!

Moss Street Market
This year marks the Moss Street Farmers Market’s 34th season!
Every year, they offer a lovely selection of local and organic farm-fresh produce, handmade crafts, artisanal clothing, and more.
It takes place on the Sir James Douglas school grounds, surrounding boulevards and Porter Park every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. until October.

James Bay Market
The James Bay Market is celebrating it’s 30th year!
Every Saturday morning from now until October 4th, 60 vendors tents line Menzies and Superior Streets with local fruit, baked goods, brewed beverages, art and much more.
Come ready to dance as well, as there will be free live music and food trucks to re-energize and keep the party going. Pets are welcome!
