Here’s what’s happening for Canada Day in downtown Victoria this year

Share

The countdown is on!

Canada Day is set to take over downtown Victoria with a full day of live music, food, and celebration—and this year, it might just carry more meaning than ever.

With all the recent political tension and social noise coming from across the border, many Canadians are finding themselves leaning into what it truly means to call this country home.

In Victoria, that sentiment will come to life through music, community, and connection at the Inner Harbour on July 1st. Victoria Buzz is proud to be a media sponsor for this meaningful celebration once again.

The event’s theme, Stronger Together, is a timely reminder of the values that unite us—diversity, inclusivity, and community. The lineup reflects that too.

Headlining this year’s show is Delhi 2 Dublin, a high-energy group known for mixing Bhangra, electronic, and Celtic music into something wildly fun and unforgettable.

They’ll be joined by Blue Moon Marquee, whose smoky, jazz-soaked blues just earned them a Juno Award, along with pop-rock favourites MIINA, Victoria’s own vocal powerhouse JAXXEE, and the always-electric Tk The Artist, who blends hip-hop with heart.

The day kicks off with a welcome from the lək̓ʷəŋən Traditional Dancers, setting the tone for a celebration rooted in place and history.

Performances will continue throughout the day, including REACH!, Bagatelle, and a reading by youth poet laureate Shauntelle / Huupʔaqsa / TSAYŁE Dick-Charleson. DJ Boitano will guide the energy on stage from start to finish.

Around Ship Point, a busking showcase will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., spotlighting homegrown talent in a more intimate setting. Meanwhile, the entire Inner Harbour will be buzzing with food trucks, activities for all ages, and that uniquely Victoria energy that comes when the community gathers near the water.

As always, the night will end with a fireworks show that lights up the sky—and maybe even stirs a little pride in our hearts. More details around the fireworks show to come.

This free event is part of the City’s commitment to enriching public spaces with arts and culture, and this year’s vibe feels especially meaningful. For the full schedule or to sign up as a volunteer, visit canadadayvictoria.ca.
