During an evening shift on Tuesday, June 24th, Central Saanich Police nabbed two drivers.
The first vehicle was pulled over for excessive speeding, having been caught travelling 92 km/hr down Lochside Drive.
Police issued them a $368 fine in addition to a seven day vehicle impound.
Later that same evening, a road block was set up, and another vehicle was impounded for 30 days when a driver was discovered operating a vehicle while impaired.
In a social media post, Central Saanich Police noted that speeding and impaired driving continue to be the leading cause of death and serious injury on BC’s roads.
“When it comes to driving we all play an important role in keeping our community safe. Do your part and drive safe, drive sober.”
