You’re in for an exciting day! With events like a roller derby tournament, live music, and more Ocean Week Victoria activities, everyone is sure to find something to suit their wants.

Plus, don’t forget that this weekend marks the 63rd annual Oak Bay Tea Party, which starts this Friday!

Without further ado, here’s 5 things to do in and around Victoria on Friday, June 6th:

Oak Bay Tea Party

Don’t miss the 63rd annual Oak Bay Tea Party, which has become a community favourite since its inception in 1962.

It will take place at Willows Beach from Friday, June 6th to Sunday, June 8th, with a variety of family-friendly activities, live performances, fair rides and much more.

Shooting Star Amusements power the fair rides, and wristbands are sold for $40, or $30 if purchased before Thursday, June 5th.

Live Music at Breakwater Bistro & Café

The Breakwater Bistro & Café has recently relaunched their Tasting Room just below the restaurant and will now be offering live music on Fridays and Saturdays!

They offer full bar service as well as casual pub fare from the kitchen upstairs. The beachside bar atmosphere is perfect for meeting up with friends, and is family-friendly.

This Friday will feature musician, Joey Charlebois!

Eves of Destruction Roller Derby Tournament

The Eves of Destruction are inviting the community to check out their roller derby tournament, Capital City Chaos!

It’s happening from Friday, June 6th to Sunday, June 8th at the Archie Browning Arena.

Attendees can purchase tournament passes that are valid for all 3 days for $30 in advance, or $35 at the door. General admission for single days is $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Children 10-years-old and younger get in for free!

Plus, Friday is Toonie night! $2 for a full evening of roller derby.

Desi Me Rollin: Summer High

Pardesi Victoria is bringing the heat, with this rooftop banger to kick off the summer season in the best way.

As described, this vibrant night will bring guests high-energy Bollywood beats, summer vibes and non-stop dancing!

Tickets are just under $11 and can be purchased via Eventbrite.

Ocean Week Victoria

From Sunday, June 1st to Sunday, June 8th, Ocean Week Victoria (OWVic) is back with a jam-packed lineup of events that are designed to educate, inspire and connect us all to the Salish Sea and beyond.

This annual celebration is a hub of activity across the city, offering a blend of virtual and in-person activities for all ages, welcoming thousands of participants each year.

Friday’s highlights include Dive into the Deep at Tillicum Centre; From Poop to Policy, which analyzes the health of Southern Resident Killer Whales via feces; and more.
