It’s Friday the 13th, Victoria!

Celebrate a job-well-done for making it through the week, and treat yourself to one of the many incredible events happening.

Listen to a local band at Ile Sauvage Brewing, celebrate Pride in Sidney, wander through a garden while music plays and much more.

Plus, FernFest will be kicking off with the the lək̓ʷəŋən Traditional Dancers to open the event!

Local Music at Ile Sauvage Brewing

If you’re looking for a chill evening with, head over to Ile Sauvage Brewing for some great beer and local music!

The brewery will be hosting Standard Issue Pleasure Model, a local rock band, thanks to Bangers Burger Club (who’ll be selling their delicious burgers on site).

This show is free to attend.

Beer and Hymns at Christ Church Cathedral

Beer and Hymns is back at the Christ Church Cathedral!

This interesting pairing has been sweeping across North America and Europe, and includes old-fashioned hymn singing with a thirst quenching twist.

During the service, the cathedral’s concession stand will be stocked with beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks and snacks.

Admission is by donation.

Sidney Pride Festival

You won’t want to miss this year’s Sidney Pride Festival, taking place on Friday, June 13th and Saturday, June 14th with a multitude of events taking over local hotspots in Sidney.

The celebration kicks off on Friday night with the highly anticipated PRIDE Night Roller Disco at the Mary Winspear Centre from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

It’s an all-ages event and invites participants to lace up and groove under the lights, though skaters must be at least seven years old.

Tickets and skate rentals are available through the Mary Winspear Centre.

Artists in the Garden

Abkhazi Garden is hosting a variety of musical events throughout the summer, and they kick off this Friday!

Musicians from the Victoria Conservatory of Music will gather in the beautiful garden setting and perform for visitors from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

This Friday presents Sylvan Wilkinson and Xavier Marican, and admission is by donation.

FernFest

The highly-anticipated neighbourhood festival, FernFest, will take place between Friday, June 13th and Saturday, June 14th, and will see a ton of live music, art and food come to the streets of Fernwood.

Fernwood NRG added that the new stage will join the high-energy of the Fernwood Square Stage and the Little Fernwood Stage in the Fernwood Community and Arts Association.

There will be over 40 performances through the two-day festivities with artists such as Pastel Blank, Garret T. Willie, Hank Pine, Paris Pick and the Pricks and more.

Friday will present the lək̓ʷəŋən Traditional Dancers to open the event!
