Join the Sidney Museum on a journey through space with their latest exhibition, Health in Space: Daring to Explore.
This new exhibit officially opened on Monday, May 5th, and was developed by the Canada Aviation and Space Museum in collaboration with the Canadian Space Agency.
Health in Space is an immersive and interactive experience that pulls back the curtain on health challenges astronauts face while living and working in space.
From coping with zero gravity and cosmic radiation to managing long stretches of isolation, the exhibition explores what it takes to survive and thrive off-planet.
Guests will also get a deeper understanding of Canada’s impressive role in advancing health research that benefits not just astronauts, but people here on Earth.
With space agencies now preparing for longer missions into deep space, including future trips to the Moon and Mars, the breakthroughs happening now could one day change how we treat illness and injury at home.
One of the highlights of the exhibition is a dedicated section on Canadian astronaut David Saint-Jacques, following his journey from training to his time aboard the International Space Station.
Health in Space runs until November 30th, and admission is by donation in order to make learning more accessible for space fans of all ages.
Whether you’re a science buff, a space enthusiast or just curious, this exhibition offers a stellar opportunity to explore the depths of space—no rocket required!
