Police investigating indecent act on Galloping Goose Trail in Langford

West Shore RCMP are investigating an allegeged disturbing incident that occurred on the Galloping Goose Trail in Langford over the weekend.

According to police, a man was seen committing an indecent act around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 11th. He was spotted in the middle of the trail near Happy Valley Road and Lomalinda Drive with his pants down.

Several officers responded and conducted patrols in the area, but the suspect was not located.

He is described as a Caucasian man between 16 and 30 years old, approximately 5’10” tall, with a slim build and short black hair. At the time of the incident, police said he was wearing black pants and a black raincoat with teal, blue, and white vertical stripes.

The West Shore RCMP Bike Unit and Special Victims Unit are continuing to investigate and have increased patrols along the West Shore trail systems.

“We are very fortunate here on the West Shore to have such an extensive trail system used by so many residents every day,” said Cpl. Chris Joy, who leads the RCMP Bike Unit.

“Although these incidents are rare, they are unacceptable and will be fully investigated.”

Police are encouraging residents to report any suspicious behaviour as soon as possible.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact West Shore RCMP.
