A woman accused of posing as a nurse and working across the Capital Regional District has been arrested in the United States and returned to Canada to face numerous charges.
According to the Central Saanich Police Service (CSPS), Charrybelle Talaue was charged in 2023 with multiple counts of fraud, forgery, and personation after allegedly using fake credentials to secure employment in healthcare settings.
Police believe her offences began in December 2023 and occurred throughout Vancouver Island and parts of Alberta.
Talaue is not, and has never been, registered as a nurse.
In 2023, both the BC College of Nurses and Midwives and the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta issued advisories warning that she may be using false documentation to gain employment in hospitals and other healthcare facilities.
The investigation led CSPS detectives beyond British Columbia, extending into Alberta where additional charges were laid. However, while awaiting trial, Talaue fled the jurisdiction—triggering arrest warrants and a cross-border manhunt.

She was ultimately located in Idaho, where CSPS investigators, in collaboration with US authorities, the RCMP, and Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officials in Osoyoos, took her into custody.
The US Secret Service and US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) also assisted in the arrest.
Deputy Chief Kevin Hackett of the Central Saanich Police Service praised the collaborative effort, saying, “I want to acknowledge the diligence of the investigative team and express my appreciation for the inter-agency cooperation that led to the arrest.”
Talaue remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in a Victoria courtroom on May 12th to face the outstanding charges.
Police say Talaue has used multiple aliases in connection with her alleged offences, including:
- Charrybelle Perez Talaue
- Charrybelle Talaue Baldesancho
- Belle Talaue
- Belle Marie

- Charie Talaue

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information about Talaue’s activities is encouraged to contact Central Saanich Police.
