Beloved musical coming to Sidney as youth cast takes on ‘The Sound of Music’

Get ready to be swept away by a classic tale of hope, resilience, and unforgettable music as Triple Threat Performing Arts Society presents The Sound of Music at the Mary Winspear Centre this month.

Running from May 29th to June 1st, this vibrant production brings together a cast of 38 incredibly talented young performers, all ready to take audiences on a journey through one of the most cherished musicals of all time. 

Set in Austria in 1938, the story follows the free-spirited Maria as she brings joy and music back into the lives of the von Trapp family, even as the world around them grows darker. 

Audiences can expect timeless hits like “Do-Re-Mi” and “My Favorite Things,” brought to life by these young artists, who have spent months perfecting every note and line. 

If you’re unfamiliar, Triple Threat Performers has built a strong reputation for nurturing youth talent across theatre, music, and dance. 

Their latest production is more than a performance—it’s a testament to the power of mentorship, creativity, and the transformative nature of live theatre.
