Happy Wednesday, Victoria!

To spruce up your mid-week, get your farm animal fix at Beacon Hill Children’s Farm, fill up on wing at Heckler’s Bar & Grill, or lounge in Banfield Park.

It’s supposed to be unbelievably nice outside, so in addition to regular routine, make sure you’re out enjoying it, if you can.

Without further ado, here’s 5 things to do in and around Victoria on Wednesday, May 28th:

Beacon Hill Children’s Farm

Have you always wondered what it would be like to live on a farm?

Well, Beacon Hill Children’s Farm has a wonderful mix of classic animals, including goats, pigs, chickens, donkeys and more.

They also house budgies, finches and parakeets, guinea pigs, doves, alpacas, ducks and many others. Needless to say, you won’t get bored here!

Admission is by donation, and the suggested amounts are $7 for adults and $6 for children.

  • Where: Beacon Hill Park, 815 Circle Drive
  • When: Wednesday, May 28th

Wing Wednesday at Hecklers Bar & Grill

Craving wings, Victoria?

Hecklers Bar & Grill has got you covered! After 4 p.m., they offer wing orders for $8 as long as you dine inside the restaurant!

Grab your pals and enjoy a night of socializing and good, affordable food.

Hike PKOLS (Mount Douglas Park)

Take advantage of the predicted sunny weather and go on a hike!

Not only are you able to see all of Victoria—including glimpses of downtown Victoria and the harbour, you’re also surrounded by lush, moss covered forest floors, established trees, and varieties of shrubs.

You can choose to drive to the top or hike from the bottom (Irvine Trail). Note that this hike is considered moderate in difficulty and may be unsuitable for some as it gets steep at times.

There are plenty of leisurely strolling trails in and around the park though, if that’s more your speed!

  • Where: East Saanich
  • When: Wednesday, May 28th, from dawn until dusk

Art & Eats at Unsworth Vineyards

If you’re up for a wee drive, Unsworth Vineyards is hosting a fundraising dinner for the Shawnigan Lake Community Watershed!

Funds go towards protecting the watersheds in the region, particularly the drinking water they provide.

Their event menu offers delicious and interesting choices, and of course, enjoy some unique & award-winning Unsworth wines or cocktails (available for purchase during the event).

  • Where: Unsworth Vineyards, 2915 Cameron Taggart Road, Mill Bay
  • When: Wednesday, May 28th from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
