An inaugural extended ranking of North America’s 50 best bars now includes the top 100, and a downtown Victoria bar has made the list.
Humboldt Bar, located at 722 Humboldt Street, is an intimate cocktail bar inspired by the life and work of Alexander von Humboldt, the 19th century German naturalist and polymath.
It ranked 69th on the list, just ahead of Nickel City Bar in Austin, Texas, and just behind Cry Baby Gallery in Toronto, Ontario.
If you’re unfamiliar, Humboldt’s work influenced our modern concept of nature and forever changed the way we understand the natural world.
To honour this, Humboldt Bar has tailored their menu to match his journeys and discoveries, his stories and accomplishments.
Drinks feature an abundance of herbs, flowers, fruits and spices and move from lighter highballs in the Bright and Fresh section, to the Bold and Spiced, there’s something for every cocktail lover!
In addition to cocktails, they serve wine, beer and food items.
