Art lovers and curious onlookers, this is for you!
This Friday, March 21st at 5:30 p.m., Victoria’s city hall is hosting a unique multi-sensory celebration of creativity and inclusivity.
Presented by Coastal Research, Education and Advocacy Network (CREAN), ABLE: An Immersive Art Exhibition will bring together a lineup of incredible artists, eager to showcase their wondrous talents.
As described in a media release, this show is all about breaking boundaries. This immersive experience weaves together sound, texture, vibrations, and scents, transforming traditional visual art into something more engaging.
Highlighted artists include Alix Morle, a multi-disciplinary artist and designer; Ingrid Mesquita, who works with mediums such as painting, textiles and woodworking; Jumoke Brown, whose connection to Africa influences his Jewelry designs and original artworks; and Raphael (Didier) Vincent, an artist that fosters community and unity through his work.
In addition to the visual and sensory installations, the evening will feature moving musical performances that highlight the power of auditory creativity and accessibility.
Performers include Eva Haas, who was Victoria’s Youth Poet Laureate for 2023-2025; Anne Martina, a Victoria-based pop artist; and Malak Musik, described as an R&B songstress.
ABLE is designed to be fully inclusive, welcoming audiences of all ages and abilities. Once you have completed this sensory journey, their hope is that you leave with a new appreciation for the beauty of diverse perspectives and creative expression.
