Magnitude 4.6 earthquake shakes Vancouver Island Monday morning

Another earthquake has been recorded off the coast of Vancouver Island.

While the exact magnitude is fluctuating, Emergency BC is reporting it as a 4.6. Other agencies have reported it as 4.4 and 4.5.

Since the publication of this article, Earthquakes Canada is reporting the earthquake as having a magnitude of 4.1.

Thousands of people visited the website to report they felt the earthquake.  The tremor is was felt across the island, including the Saanich Peninsula.

The quake is being reported as occurring 20 km off the coast of Sidney.

Emergency BC is reporting there is no tsunami threat.
