Commuters travelling northbound on the Pat Bay Highway (Highway 17) are being warned to expect delays today as emergency repairs are underway near the Keating Cross Road interchange.
The province has announced a full closure of the Keating off-ramp (Exit 18) until at least 3 p.m. on Friday, March 28th, while crews carry out urgent repairs to a steel plate embedded in the highway’s right lane.
Although the highway itself remains open, only one lane is currently available for northbound travel near the construction site.
Traffic hoping to exit at Keating Cross Road will need to use the left-turn lane or take a detour via Island View Road.
According to the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, drivers should anticipate delays of at least 20 minutes and are encouraged to seek alternative routes if possible.
The repair work is part of the ongoing Keating Cross Road Interchange Project, which has been under active construction as part of broader efforts to improve safety and traffic flow in the area.
Updates will be provided as the situation develops.
