We all know that Victoria is stunning, but did you know that it’s been named as one of the top boating cities in Canada?
With its stunning coastal scenery and access to the pristine waters of the Salish Sea, perhaps it’s no surprise that this waterfront gem has earned a place on BoatBooker’s top 10 best boating cities in Canada for 2025.
According to a press release from BoatBooker (the country’s leading platform for booking boat trips) Victoria’s close proximity to calm and sheltered waters make it an ideal spot for boating of all kinds—including sailing, kayaking, paddleboarding or fishing.
Particularly from April to October, the city’s waterways are the place to be, and become a hotspot for activities such as whale watching, island hopping, floating the Gorge, taking a daytrip to Sidney Spit, exploring the coves, and more.
Victoria is also world-renowned for its salmon fishing, attracting avid anglers and fishing newbies from all corners of the globe.
On top of waterway activities, BoatBooker also mentioned our historic Inner Harbour, lined with local shops and eateries that make for the perfect after-boating experiences.
“All in all, between the natural beauty and Victoria’s city charm, it’s the perfect destination to vacation in,” the release reads.
Also included on the list was Montreal, Quebec; Saint John, New Brunswick; and Ottawa, Ontario.
