Oak Bay High School has had another fire lit in a bathroom over the course of just four days.
At around 9:25 a.m. on February 11th, Oak Bay Police were called to the high school by the fire department to assist them in the investigation of a fire being set in a girl’s bathroom.
Police say the small fire was lit in the lower-level southeast girl’s bathroom, but was quickly extinguished by high school staff.
After the fire was out, the school was temporarily evacuated after the fire because smoke could be smelled in a second-floor classroom.
According to Oak Bay Police, classes resumed once it was determined that no further safety concerns existed.
No injuries reported during the incident.
Oak Bay Police were assisted by the Saanich Police Forensic Investigation Services to conduct an arson investigation.
At this time, no arrests have been made in relation to this incident.
Last Friday, February 7th, police were called to the school to investigate another arson that was set in a boy’s washroom at Oak Bay High School.

That fire too was quickly contained; however, the school was closed and all students sent home for the day.
Police say these incidents have not been linked, but it is possible both arson incidents are related.
