An earthquake in BC on Friday afternoon was felt by many across Vancouver Island.
The quake, initially reported as a magnitude 4.7 to 4.8, struck 27 km from Sechelt, BC. However, Emergency BC is nowreporting it as a magnitude 5.1.
As of this publication, no damage has been reported. However, thousands have taken to social media to share that they felt the shake, which lasted about five seconds.
In an update, Emergency BC said there is no concerns of a tsunami.

This is the second earthquake to be felt by Vancouver Islanders over the past two weeks. On February 14th, a 3.8 magnitude quake struck at 9:59 p.m., approximately 17 km southeast of Victoria, at a depth of 40.3 km.
