Tuesday Trivia Launch at The Outpost Board Game Cafe
Langford pals, this is for you!
The well-known trivia hosts, Sixty Watt, are bringing their epic game of knowledge to The Outpost Board Game Cafe in Langford.
Similar to their board game seating fee, trivia will cost each player $7 to participate. However, if you’re one of the first five teams to arrive on launch day, then your game will be covered!
Teams can be up to six people, and teams with two or fewer will receive a bonus point. This is an all ages show.

Tammy Fassaert Performance
If you’re a fan of bluegrass, you won’t want to miss the west coast trailblazer, Tammy Fassaert!
Described as having a superb vocal style that combines sophistication and earthy American musical influences with her own talent.
It’ll be held at the First Church of Christ and Fassaert will go on at 9 p.m. Before she goes on, there will be an open stage starting at 7:45. To reserve, review their Facebook page for contact information.
General admission is $10, and $7 for VBA Members and Open Stage performers.

Book Launch: Stitching Our Stories Together
The University of Victoria’s First Peoples House is hosting a special book launch for, Stitching Our Stories Together: Journeys Into Indigenous Social Work.
The book’s editors, Jeannine Carriere and Catherine Richardson, will be conversing with emerging scholars featured in the book, demonstrating how Indigenous knowledges can challenge settler ideas.
The editors will also describe their philosophy of mentoring and supporting students through an Indigenous lens.
This event is free and open to the public, and the book will be available for purchase at the UVic Bookstore.

Activism & the Arts: d’bi.young anitafrika
Award-winning playwright-performer, director-dramaturge and activist-scholar d’bi.young anitafrika is this year’s Lehan Family Activism & the Arts Lecturer, who will be speaking on the topic of “Dub Performance as Decolonial Praxis.”
d’bi.young anitafrika is the author of 12 plays, seven albums and four poetry collections. Widely anthologised, this Siminovitch Prize finalist “embodies, creates and teaches decolonial performance praxis on a global scale.”
This talk is free to attend and will take place in Phoenix Theatre on UVic’s campus at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25th.

Firebird Variety Open Mic
In the mood for a fun variety show? Phoenix Bar & Grill is the place to be!
They’ll be hosting their Variety Open Mic night, which will begin this week with a special pre-show from Ghost of a Girl.
This variety show contains both the beauty of musical performance and the thrill of stand-up comedy!
