VicPD investigating hit-and-run after pedestrian struck by vehicle on Bay Street

VicPD are seeking witnesses and dashcam footage after a hit-and-run occurred on Bay Street. 

The incident took place at around 7:15 a.m. on January 16th at the intersection of Bay Street and Oregon Avenue. 

Officers received a report from emergency services, saying that the pedestrian was believed to be crossing Bay Street at a marked crosswalk when a “newer” white Mercedes two-door sedan struck them while travelling east on Bay Street. 

The pedestrian sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital for further examination and treatment.

Police are urging the driver of the white Mercedes to come forward. 

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has available dashcam/video footage of the area around the time of the collision should call VicPD at (250) 995-7654.

The investigation is ongoing.
