Here’s a list of coffee shops in and around Victoria where you can get stuff done

And if you’re like us and it’s vital to your everyday, why not go somewhere where it’s guaranteed to be delicious, and give you a cozy space to get some work done?

To make your choice easier, we took to social media to gather local favourites as well as some of our own!

Without further ado, here’s 8 cafes across Greater Victoria to satisfy your work and study needs:

Union Pacific

Union Pacific Coffee Co. is nestled in the historic Hart’s Block building and offers a unique blend of specialty coffee, freshly baked pastries, and casual eats.

They’ve got a lovely laid-back Pacific Northwest vibe and rich heritage ambiance, so head on down and find your perfect spot for a delightful coffee experience!

  • When: Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Bean Around the World

Bean Around the World is a cozy neighborhood cafe that serves java, tea, paninis and pastries!

They aim to present excellence with every coffee, provide fresh products, showcase local art and continue to support initiatives in Guatemala.

They also offer outdoor seating, which is absolutely lovely when it’s warm outside.

  • When: 
    • Monday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    • Sundays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

St. Cecilia’s

With stunning high ceilings, natural light pouring in through huge windows and the stunning aesthetic, St. Cecilia’s is a place you’ll want to hang out at for a while.

They offer specialty coffee and other goodies (even ice cream!), so there’s plenty to keep you quenched and fed all day.

  •  Where: 535 Yates Street
  • When: 
    • Tuesday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    • Sunday and Monday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Moka House

There are two beautiful locations to choose from—one in Cadborro Bay and the other along Cook Street!

As described, they brew heirloom Sacred Acre coffee on their espresso bar. Everything is roasted in small batches, so you know you’re getting fresh, every time.

  • When: 
    • Cook Street: 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
    • Cadboro Bay: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Gigi’s Cafe

Women-led, Gigi’s Cafe welcomes anyone looking for a cozy space to hang out for a few hours and enjoy some delicious coffee and treats.

They use local suppliers whenever they are able, including Fernwood Coffee and matcha from Jagasilk. They also serve soups that are vegetarian or vegan friendly.

Additionally, Gigi’s will host writer’s and musician open mics!

Caffe Fantastico

Family-run and deeply dedicated to phenomenal coffee, Caffe Fantastico offers more than just a workspace, they offer a home.

Unwind or dive deep into your work/study projects while you take in the neat curated atmosphere.

They also offer a wide variety of events each month, so keep an eye out for those too!

  • When: 
    • Sunday to Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
    • Thursday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Discovery in Oak Bay

Warm and welcoming, this spacious Discovery Coffee location in Oak Bay is a great place to park yourself for a couple of hours and get some work done.

Tons of natural light, plenty of coffee and menu items to choose from!

Hide + Seek Coffee

Quaint and with limited space, but incredibly cozy, Hide + Seek Coffee offers great coffee in the beautiful Oak Bay area.

This cute and carefully curated space is family-run too, so you know it’ll be welcoming!

    • Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    • Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
