The Lunar New Year is nearly upon us, Victoria!
A fantastic way to celebrate (on top of the wonderous activities happening in and around town) is to treat yourself to some delicious Chinese cuisine—particularly wonton soup.
To complement the chilly winter season, we took to social media and asked you guys where the best place to get wonton soup is, and you had plenty!
We’ve compiled a list with some favourites mentioned, so whether this is your first time trying it or you’re looking to try a different restaurant, we hope this helps.

Young’s Restaurant
Young’s was one of the top highlighted wonton hotspots, and has been serving Chinese food for over 30 years!
Family owned and operated, they have locations in Victoria and Vancouver, and are dedicated to great quality food at affordable prices.

J&J Wonton Noodle House
J&J Wonton Noodle House specializes in Cantonese and Szechuan food, and was another frequently mentioned Chinese restaurant for wonton soup!
They use as many local ingredients as possible, and they’ve received the title ‘Best of the City’ more than once.

Fan Tan Cafe
This local, laid-back Chinese nook has been around since 1985 and is known for its eclectic decor and fabulous cuisine.
They’ve won ‘Best in Victoria’ for the Chinese food category a couple of times—go and try it for yourself!

Fonbo Restaurant
Fonbo Restaurant is located in the Royal Oak Shopping Centre, and is a fusion between authentic Chinese and Western-style cuisine.
Locally owned and operated for over 35 years, they’ve become the neighbourhood favourite for Chinese food!

Asian Noodle House
Some reviews claim that Asian Noodle House carries the best wonton soup in the Greater Victoria area, so it sounds like this might be a decent place to start!
Plenty of delicious options on their menu too if you ever decide to come back.

Authentic and delicious, Good Fortune has bene highlighted as the community Chinese food hotspot.
They’re a family-run business and everything is made fresh, ready for your hungry stomachs and eager tastebuds!

Ocean Garden in Chinatown
Ocean Garden in Victoria’s Chinatown is described as a casual spot for Sichuan and Cantonese dishes, such as chow mein, wonton soup and steamed crab.

Crown Palace
Run by a husband and wife duo since 1989, Crown Palace puts a lot of care into their dishes!

Don Mee
Highly-renowned for their dim sum, Don Mee specializes in numerous authentic dishes, and offers a lively atmosphere in the heart of Chinatown.
